Invitation to Pledge
Beloved friends of LaSalle -
This is the season where we look back and give thanks, as well as look forward to our plans for the 2025 Budget season. Thank you to everyone who has given of your finances, presence, prayers, and time this past year - 2024 has been a season of growth, stabilizing numbers and community, and increased diversity, energy, creativity and outreach! We're seen increased membership, baptisms, attendance, and giving; more gatherings and relationships forming, and more events and spaces for joy and faith to flourish - thanks be to God. As we look ahead to 2025, I want to invite you to prayerfully consider pledging - making a commitment to intentionally give to LaSalle in some way in the coming year. Read on for more information on how to pledge, and what your gifts will help create.
In 2025, we will be focusing on six priorities that build on where we've seen life and growth already:
Hospitality & Belonging - making room for more at the table, especially those marginalized, with questions, and/or recovering from church hurt
Spirit-led Worship & Creativity - more people, energy, and excellence on Sunday mornings and beyond
Justice & Advocacy - systemically engaging the needs of our Near North Neighborhood and the city to live out what we believe
Multiethnic Identity & Trust - keep building our representation, commitment, awareness and embodiment of being a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-denominational body
Kids, Youth & Families Leading - encouraging our families and youth to engage, lead, and see themselves centered in faith and community
Spiritual Formation & Health - deepening our understanding and healing in our own lives, relationships, communities, and with others
You’re invited to pray with us, dream with us, and engage in shaping how these priorities come to life in the year ahead, and part of that is considering making a pledge for 2025. Financial pledges help us shape our future budget; and pledges of time, presence, and prayer help us strengthen our capacity and community. Every pledge, no matter the size or type of gift, contributes to the flourishing of this community. Our goal for 2025 is to receive 10 increased pledges, or an increase by some amount from folks already giving; and 10 new pledges, new givers committing to being part of the story at LaSalle in some way.
You can pledge online or get a paper pledge card Sunday mornings at church as well.

I am so grateful for our congregation and how we continue to live out our call as a people of expansive faith and generous community who are invested in God’s justice. We’re continuing to build on our history, a legacy of being a place that shares the abundance of God with all as a church that makes room. I thank God for this kind of space that has the courage and creativity to reimagine together how to keep growing as a faithful people, how to “daily tell the truth about the violence of this world and the truth about the good news of God,” as theologian Walter Bruggemann says local congregations are meant to do. And while we know this coming year will have much for us to withstand - we also know that together, abiding in God's presence, and as a community committed to one another - we can prepare, respond prophetically, and address injustice, anxiety, fear and uncertainty with flourishing, trust, truth, and life!
What a gift it is to be part of the story of God and the story of this church in such a time as this. Thank you for all the ways that you help make us who we are, and for considering giving of your finances, presence, prayer, and time in this coming year. With much love and thanks - Rev Liz
