Worship Service Rhythms
At LaSalle, we organize our worship services around four unique rhythms: Banquet, Belong, Serve, and Sabbath. Each of these are meant to help us notice and focus on a certain aspect of worship, like an accent; although every service contains elements of the others. Read more about each kind of service below and check the worship calendar to see our current rhythms.
Banquet
Banquet Sundays happen about 1x a quarter; after a full worship service with communion, we gather together for a meal or party and make space to celebrate and eat together and connect in Leslie Hall.
10-11:30 AM Worship
11:45 AM-1:00 PM Banquet
Belong
Belong Sundays are our most common, usually held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month; they include our full worship service with communion, and then make room for post-service fellowship and snacks, and classes for kids, youth, and adults.
10-11:30 AM Worship
11:30 AM-12:30 PM Classes & Fellowship
Serve
Serve Sundays are the second Sunday of each month; they help center the work of advocacy and outreach as worship. All ages are invited to participate in a service or learning project, following a shortened worship service.
10-11:30 AM Worship & Serve
Sabbath
Sabbath Sundays are the last week of each month and invite us to a unique space of resting and engaging in contemplative worship. We share a digital-first worship service stream to watch from where you are – at home, with friends or family, or in our Sanctuary with other congregants, a pastor, and coffee and treats.
