Pastor Randall K. Blakey
Executive Pastor
Since 2011 Pastor Randall has served LaSalle Street Church as Executive Pastor, role that has included Chief of Staff responsibilities coupled with that of the Pastoral responsibilities of the Ministry Team. His passion for ministry includes social justice, racial righteousness, pulpit diversity and pneumatology. Many refer to him as someone who provides leadership in the pulpit and in the public square. As Volunteer ED of the Near North Unity Program (NNUP), and Board President of the Cabrini Green CDC, he maintains an acute sense of community pulse, assets, and opportunities. Prior to LaSalle he was a 23-year member of the Faith Community of St. Sabina where he served as Director of Ministries & Pastoral Associate. Pastor Randall has worked in the television business for the last 30 years and has won numerous awards, the most notable being 4 Emmy awards for Television Photojournalism. His most memorable work was covering the release of Nelson Mandela from South African Prison for CBS News in 1990. He holds degrees from Tennessee State University, McCormick Theological Seminary, The Divinity School of Harvard University, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago’s Civic Leadership Academy.
Where do you live and with who? I live on the far Southside with my wife, 2 adult kids in graduate school, and 2 pups
What is your favorite drink? My favorite drink is Alkaline Water with a Twist of Lime
What are some favorite ways to recharge? My favorite way to recharge is spending quality quiet time with God
What are you enjoying about your role at LaSalle right now? I enjoy working with my incredible colleagues at LSC & TLF as well as our beautifully diverse population of congregants and local community.
