Banquet

10:00 - 11:30 AM

Our service weaves together historic and innovative worship styles - you may hear Gospel music and hymns, songs in English and Spanish/Zulu/Korean, liturgical confessions and charismatic prayers, biblical text and a sermon, and other creative elements. We serve communion (individual wafers and juice cups + a gluten free option) to all who follow Jesus near the end of the service. Our service will probably feel casual, encouraging, creative, and multi-denominational.

After worship, head to Leslie Hall in Cornerstone Center (1111 N. Wells Street) to join our community banquet. Our banquets sometimes have potluck contributions from congregants, but the church always provides entrees and ensures we have vegatarian and gluten-free options.

There’s always coffee/snacks in the lower level by the Welcome Table, as well as restrooms, a parents/caregiver room, and nursery for ages 2-5. Kids can stay in service or grades 1-5, and Youth grades 6-12 can leave midway with teachers and walk one block over to our Cornerstone Center classrooms. We also have an elevator on the north lower level entry, and designated wheelchair space in the back section of pews in the Sanctuary. Friendly greeters will provide you with nametags and answer any questions in the foyer.

Serve

10:00 - 11:30 AM

Serve Sundays are an opportunity to make an investment in God’s justice for our world. By coming together and taking tangible steps toward caring for the vulnerable and oppressed, we not only develop our relationship and witness to our neighbors across the city, we develop our relationship with Christ.

On Serve Sundays, we meet in the sanctuary for a shortened 30 minute worship service before breaking out for that morning’s service project, which usually takes about an hour on site or near our church. Come dressed in casual/work clothes expecting options for all ages and mobility levels.

Service projects vary depending on evolving needs in our local neighborhood, the time of year, and other factors. Sometimes, we serve for the benefit of one of our partner ministries, while other times we engage in a direct benevolence project in this community. These Sundays help us support various partners and center the community development, public policy, and compassionate service that our church is committed to Monday-Friday throughout our various outreach and advocacy programs.

Belong

10:00 - 11:30 AM

Belong Sundays are all about exploring an expansive faith and digging deeper into our identities in Christ through worship, teaching, discussion, and encouragement. Our focused worship service begins at 10 AM in the sanctuary with group singing, the reading of Scripture, preaching from our pastors, and the serving of communion at the end of service.

After the end of our service, grab a snack or a cup of coffee in the lower level before heading over to Cornerstone Center. From 11:30 AM -12:30 PM, we open up the rooms in Leslie Hall and all of Cornerstone for ongoing classes, prayer time, small groups, our youth group, and an occasional guest speaker. Belong classes give us options to dig deeper in faith and widen your perspective on the world, and we always have ‘guest-friendly’ options, too.

Join us on Belong Sundays to seek out where and what you have been called to!

Sabbath

10:00 - 10:45 AM

Sabbath Sundays offer a contemplative space to rest and reflect on the work of God in our own hearts and in the world. While every worship service at LaSalle is streamed online, it’s on Sabbath Sundays that we encourage LaSaller to join online for this digital-first worship experience (we also open the sanctuary and host those who want to gather together locally to watch the service together).

Our online service features more contemplative practices alongside pre-recorded music, the reading of Scripture, preaching from our pastors, and more. These services will have ample space for discussion and reflection — we invite you to join the discussion with other LaSallers online, or with your family at home, or invite a small group of LaSallers in your neighborhood to watch and discuss the service with you.

Hosting an online-only service provides a lower-stakes opportunity for a guest to check out what we’re all about at LaSalle. Not to mention skipping the commute to our church building! Including Sabbath Sunday in our worship rhythm ensures we are regularly incorporating rest and thoughtful healing into church life.
